  FinanceOrko Lighting SouthendPart Time (2-3 Days Per Week)

  Commercially minded Financial Controller to take manage our internal financial operations, tax compliance, and commercial forecasting. A technical inclination or passion for electronic products and hardware will be a major advantage when analysing our business, products, strategies and Bill of Materials (BOM). Commercial Strategy, FP&A & Cost Optimisation - Projections & Cash Flow: Build and maintain weekly/monthly cash flow projections, rolling forecasts, and spend models. - Cost & Margin Auditing: Audit weekly and monthly operational expenses to eliminate wasteful spend, optimize component sourcing (LED drivers, extrusions, wiring), and drive margin efficiency. - Target Alignment & KPIs: Collaborate directly with leadership to track progress against core KPIs, establish profitable trade pricing structures, and reach financial targets. Asset & Risk Management Core Accounting, Payroll & Compliance - Tax & Statutory Filings: File monthly CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns, monthly PAYE pension submissions, and quarterly VAT returns. - Payroll Processing: Manage both weekly and monthly payroll runs accurately within Xero. - Act as the primary contact for external financial services and coordinate financial data collection. Qualifications - AAT Level 4, ATT, or Chartered status (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) required - Background in UK SME manufacturing, trade, or e-commerce preferred. - Advanced Xero proficiency, strong Excel/Google Sheets financial modelling capabilities, and general computer literacy. - Technical Affinity: A genuine interest or technical understanding of electronic products, IT, or physical hardware to quickly grasp product economics and assembly workflows. - Strong analytical ability to translate raw financial data into practical operational guidance for sales, workshop, and logistics teams.
