LED tape and LED strip lights are commonly used names for the same type of flexible linear LED lighting. The terms are generally used interchangeably.

Not always, but an aluminium profile is recommended for most installations. It provides light diffusion creating enhanced spread and softness, protects the tape from impact/dust, supports heat management and can provide a cleaner, more professional finish.
